My girlfriend and I, accompanied by my family, had an excellent, memorable time. We stayed at the Iberostar Lindo for my birthday week. The staff was amiable, and this was my first trip to Mexico. I wish I could shout out to everyone we had interacted with, but I must mention a few by name. Augusto the wine sommelier, Jennifer with the entertainment crew at the pool and the evening shows, building 51 Concierge Nestor, Walter, and Jazmin.
The night of my birthday we went to The Geisha hibachi at the Maya resort (Thanks to Anna the supervisor at the front desk for the birthday dinner upgrade and the excellent flyboard cozumel recommendations!) I have to give special recognition to Cornelio Ramirez Alvarez & Julio Velasco Escribano for outstanding service and attention to detail at the Geisha restaurant.
The food was very delicious, and the alcohol was a top-shelf at our resort. Erick (spelling?) the waiter at the Maya buffet for dinner was MORE then attentive to our needs during dinner one evening as he kept our drinks filled, carried our plates back to our table from the buffet line, and continued to refresh our napkins across our laps. It is a birthday that I will never forget and certainly will return one day as they made me feel like a King!
Please give Mexico a chance and consideration, especially this resort in particular, in your future travel plans! The grounds are stunning, and the beach was beautiful. You could easily get lost while admiring the gardens and wildlife. I am writing this review in hopes that upper management will recognize the employees mentioned above for their outstanding service in the hospitality industry!
I have never taken the time to write a review on TripAdvisor before! Folks who read this, don’t forget to tip these hard-working men and women. My only couple of complaints would be that the wave pool was broken all week and this was one of the selling points for us when we booked. Also, we wish that they had more outside entertainment such as dancing or a DJ poolside after the dinner hour until having to wait till later at night for the “adult hours” at the disco. With that said, none of these minor issues ruined our time. Thank you all again!
The food was good everywhere we ate. We loved the Mexican Buffet for lunch, and the main buffet never failed to delight our appetites (but we enjoyed the breakfast)! Luis is another star to be acknowledged, as he helped a few times as both waiter and conversant. I also loved the Steak House, El Rancho, seated in Paraiso Maya (we did that twice). You will be amazed at how stunning the Paraiso Maya is. As you can tell, there is much more to the place than just the Lindo resort. The Lindo exists on a campus setting with other Paraiso resorts that you can explore. Tacos and Crepes are not to be missed at the Market (that’s a clue).
If you are a sci-fi fan, definitely check out the disco, we had a blast there. The gym is downright impressive. The staff there are genuine and helpful. At the shooting range, Manolo proved to be worth getting to know. He made our day, as he was pretty entertaining. Our concierges, especially Estephany and Giovanni, were super helpful, and always friendly. Overall, this was a 9 out of 10 for me, and most of the family. If the beach were more intimate, it would be a 10. Let me say that this is the first vacation resort I would revisit, in spite of my rule of no-repeat. I hope this helps. Be good to yourselves.
